Ice Trees, Rapid City SD

Winter wonderland 2010

Winter wonderland 2010

Growing up in California and living in the Arizona desert, I didn’t know ice really formed on trees like this. Just like the ‘sprayed’ xmas trees in the store, only natural and much more beautiful. And more dangerous. Solid ice was not only on the trees, but on every surface. Including the roads it was like trying to drive on a giant ice cube.

yes, i did. I think the composition came out nicely. I have rubber things, wrapped in wire that stretch over my shoes so i don’t slide too much when wandering around in ice and snow, looking for a cool photo. The hail here, knocked the camera out of my hand once. The don’t make a strong enough umbrella to stand up to South Dakota’s hail storms.
      Thank you,
      ^.^))
